Junior Mechanical Engineer (Youngquist Brothers LLC) (Fort Myers, FL) Plan, design, and offer engineering input relevant to the company’s business needs; Prepare reports, computer generated 3-D drawings, testing procedures, and other relevant documents to present to various business audiences; Calculate cost and determine feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data, applying knowledge and techniques of engineering, and advanced mathematics; Utilize mathematics formulas in designing and evaluating mechanical systems and products by designing, researching, and applying principles of mechanics; Use computer-aided engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering models, drawings and design documents; For engineering-related matters, proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans to resolve mechanical problems; Determine material, tooling, fabrication, handling, and construction costs for each application; Improve existing products, equipment, systems, and procedures; Develop testing procedures for proving components; Work with others to assist with implementation of products, equipment, and systems; and Maintain databases and systems to accurately track information for current and future use. In order to complete the above-mentioned tasks, the following experience is required: General knowledge of basic mechanical functions of autos, trucks, and machinery; Experience with direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects; Experience preparing and delivering presentations to various audiences such as stakeholders, clients, support staff, and management; An understanding of physics and concepts such as mechanics, dynamics, material science and structural analysis, as well as mechanical design, machine design and the mechanics behind material behavior; Strong mathematical ability- calculus, algebra, trigonometry, arithmetic, kinematics and dynamics; Parametric three-dimensional modeling, conceptual skills, eye for detail, and good visualization skills; Experience using computer-aided engineering and design software, Autodesk AutoCAD and Solidworks, to model conceptual 2D sketches and 3D parametric models for analysis and production; Computer literacy using Microsoft office suite, Solidworks, and Autodesk AutoCAD; Proven experience problem-solving and critical thinking for overcoming unforeseen hurdles and mechanical issues, as well as a sound project management skillset; Demonstrated experience working with team members and management to efficiently produce top quality results to boost company growth while meeting project objectives; and Excellent prioritization and project development skills, utilizing Microsoft excel to maintain and track project deliverables. Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and at least one (1) year of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or other Engineering discipline.
