Machine and Fabrication Shop
Among reasons why Youngquist Brothers has become the industry leader in large-diameter
well drilling is its investment in a 16,000-square-foot machine shop, where in-house
experts manufacture parts and equipment to improve every aspect of the business.
YBI keeps a substantial resource of parts and supplies ready to go into service
in a moments notice.
Youngquist’s manufacturing utilizes full-precision CNC milling and turning capabilities,
including CAD/CAM programming. The machine shop specializes in innovative design,
engineering, fabrication and machining of complex, high-precision, close-tolerance
parts, assemblies and tooling.
Most notably, Youngquist has improved and re-manufactured all of its drilling rigs
and support equipment to make them safer and more efficient.
Major equipment includes:
- Kuraki KV2000 CNC vertical machining center
- Okuma Cadet L1420 CNC lathe with 15" hydraulic chuck
- Mazak VTC-20B CNC vertical mill with Kitagawa programmable head
- Messer CNC burn table with plasma and torch (12’ x 40’)
Fabrication Shop
Youngquist Brothers’ fabrication expertise and problem-solving skills have resulted
in new rigs, tools, equipment and parts that have innovated large-diameter drilling
procedures and deep well operations.
By keeping a skilled staff of fabricators, welders, and fitters on call, YBI is
able to use innovative solutions to solve any and all problems that arise on the
job.
Maintaining these assets is a continuing contribution to Youngquist’s leadership
position in large-diameter well drilling.
