E-Rigs
Powerful, quiet, efficient and safe, Youngquist Brothers new fleet of electric rigs
sets the company apart in the drilling of deep injection and other technically sophisticated
and highly regulated wells.
Designed and fabricated at Youngquist’s 28 acre manufacturing shop and fabrication
yard in Fort Myers, Fl., the five E-rigs went into service in 2008-09, reflecting
the company’s 30 years of knowledge and experience in large-diameter drilling.
The massive new equipment – 130 feet tall and with capacities exceeding 750,000
pounds each -- quickly surpassed traditional, diesel-powered rigs in terms of drilling
speed and precision, while greatly reducing noise and fossil-fuel consumption.
The ambitious, $50 million fleet expansion is the latest example of Youngquist’s
innovation and leadership, a result of the company’s core desire to improve efficiency
and performance in large-diameter well drilling.
