Carbon Capture and Sequestration
The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions has come to the forefront of industry
in many developed nations. With the advent of global warming and the rapid expansion
of new power generation projects world wide, the environmental impacts of CO2 released
into the atmosphere are concerning to say the least. The successful capture, treatment,
and storage of CO2 is a major point of emphasis in the international community.
Given its successful history as a safe and environmentally sound technology, deep
well injection is being tested nationally as a way in which to reduce greenhouse
gas emissions from carbon dioxide producing industries, such as coal-fired power
plants and landfill incinerators.
As a sign of the importance of this emerging technology, the EPA recently created
the Class VI well with the specific purpose of carbon sequestration.
As leaders of deep injection well technology, Youngquist Brothers is actively engaged
in preparing to bring deep well injection of CO2 to our customers.
